The Royal Irrigation Department is preparing for water management to cope with the climate phenomenon “El Niño” that is about to end and the beginning of “La Niña” that is expected to bring increased rainfall in some periods. Advance planning for water storage, drainage and disaster warning will be important to reduce impacts on the agricultural sector and prevent flooding in risk areas.
